I was on the Isle of Iona recently for a interior shoot commission and after waiting for the weather forecast to look good for several weeks I grabbed the opportunity with a good forecast for two days ahead. Iona lived up to every expectation I had with its beautiful stretches of white sandy beaches and turqoiuse sea, historic buildings and a sense of quiet. I was shooting for Ardoran house which sits right on the edge of the water just across from where the ferry comes in. A bit of exploring by bike, as no visitor cars are allowed, led me to the north end beaches for a gorgeous sunset and south end past the abbey for the next day with clear blue skies and secluded beaches.
On another note I discovered that Iona has its’ very own tartan, one that reflects the colour of the sea, stone and sand. Just simply gorgeous colours and if you are interested you can see the Sound of Iona Tartan website here
You can also view images of Ardoran House on my property and commercial website here
Iona is somewhere I promise to visit again and spend more time exploring the amazing beaches and enjoying the local hospitality.
